The LAB Fleet
This is a summary of the aircraft flown by Lloyd Aereo Boliviano during its existence between 1925 and 2008. Some planes were owned, others leased and some appeared on paper only and were never flown by LAB. I have found information on 124 different aircraft.
The individual posts that you see covering each aircraft type contain extensive information on the history of each airframe including the different companies that owned or leased the aircraft. I have tried to include photos of the color schemes used by the different airlines, when available.
Another thing I would like to say; I am not an aviation expert, nor am I an authority on Lloyd Aereo Boliviano, it's history or the wide variety of aircraft that have carried its colors.
I am just a fan that has access to the internet, for that is where ALL of this information comes from; except for the photographs that my family and I have taken over the years. I am absolutely certain that most of this is already in book form or on paper somewhere; I just haven't found it yet.
And it all started when I was looking thru the Wikipedia page for LAB, and under "Fleet" was a list of the aircraft types that had flown for LAB. At the top of the list was a statement: "This list is incomplete; you can help by expanding it"... and I thought - I can do that - I want to do that.
So here I am. I am sure there are many errors and incomplete histories and information. Quite often different sources will have slightly different sets of information.
Concerning the excellent photos that I have found on-line of these 124 aircraft. I have attempted to contact the approximately 240 photographers who took the photos and have heard back from about half of them so far; all of them very supportive of my work. I hope you enjoy this project of mine.
